Once you buy them you own them on Steam... What do you mean? Like, a physical copy?

Also, Steam has amazing deals on games in the first place as well.

what happens when steam closes? Will you still be able to get them?

How will Steam close unless some sort of bankruptcy happens?

all companies close eventually, wether it is a few months or a few decades, extremely few survive into a century.

Capcom was a huge company once, now they are on the verge of bankruptcy.

My question remains valid, how do you get your games when Steam disappears along with their services?

If the answer is "I can't" then you don't own them, you just rent them. As a pal of mine said, imagen if Ikea came by knokcing on your door saying they want their furniture back because they are going bankrupt, thats steam for you.

When you buy the games they are all installed on your computer.
You don't really need steam to run them.

computers crash too and people upgrade, so again what do you do when steam is gone?

Then like any smart person you transfer the files to an external hard drive upgrade/repair computer. Then transfer them back on.

Not really that hard..
